Alexandra Santos

Alexandra Santos creates images that relate to the uncanny and the surreal. She uses images of animals as metaphor, a symbol for alienation and the idea of nature as Other. She draws inspiration from psychoanalysis, dreams, fairy tales and cosmology.  There is an element of performance in her images, an inquiring and questioning eye into the nature of Reality, she infuses these images with melancholy mixed with humour affecting the strange as familiar and the familiar as strange.
