Francoise Huguier
Francoise Huguier is known as one of the world's great photojournalists. Widely travelled, Huguier documents her adventures in books. From a tender look at African women, to examining life in a St. Petersburg flat, to a tentative rediscovery of her Cambodian roots, she immortalises and celebrates the everyday.
Aside from travel, Huguier is famed for her backstage fashion show images - insider snaps which have been requested by Vogue, The New York Times Magazine and Marie Claire. She has also shot major advertising campaigns for fashion houses - including Lanvin and Christian Lacroix.
The photographer enjoys experimenting with film - she was shortlisted at the Cannes Film Festival in 1990 for a short film. She has also collected honoraries for her photographs - including the World Press Photo Prize in 1993, and the Kodak Prize back in 1986. Passionate about her craft, she organised Africa's first Biennale of Photography in 1994.
Huguier has exhibited in galleries all over the world, including Paris, New York, Sao Paulo and London.
