Nicky Watanabe
1937
Japanese artist Nicky Watanabe originally began work as an actor and then as an advertising film director. He spent some time studying colour techniques in California, fell in love with America, and eventually moved to San Francisco, where he discovered and began painting.
Watanabe calls himself a ‘precisionist’. His vivid colours and whimsical details translate perfectly to original works and limited edition prints. His interpretations of the New England countryside are held in public and private collections worldwide.
